The WWII Japanese American incarceration is a dramatic example of how anti-immigrant sentiment, racial bias, and failure of political leadership can have grave consequences for American civil liberties. We will share teacher-developed lessons about this history - aligned to the C3 framework - designed to inspire students’ civic engagement and critical thinking about current topics, such as racism, immigration, detention.
