Teaching current events is challenging. How can we prepare students to have reflective and respectful discussion of current events, especially those that may be divisive? How can these lessons support critical literacy development and foster civic awareness? Facing History and Ourselves will model teaching activities to facilitate discussions that promote humanity, equitable participation, academic discourse and consider multiple perspectives.
